The bladed trocar is a sharp blade for cutting through tissue housed within a bladeless tip. The outer plastic sheath acts as a shield to protect the blade when not in use. The locking mechanism provides additional safety by preventing the plastic sheath from exposing the blade once abdominal access has been obtained. Bladed trocars are available in 5mm, 10/11mm and 12mm.
